National mourning
10th April 2010 - 18th April 2010
The presidential plane Tu-154 crashed during the landing attempt at the Smoleńsk airport when carrying the delegation to the Katyń massacre
commemoration. On board there was the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński together with his wife and some of the most prominent state figures forming the Polish
political and intellectual elite. They all died...
From now on, Katyń will have a twofold meaning for Poland. 70 years after a terrible crime done to the Polish men the place took almost another hundred of Polish
people. One tragedy follows another tragedy...
Among the plane crash victims there was also Ryszard Kaczorowski, the last Polish president in exile - the guardian of the
continuity of the Polish state in a time when Poland was not entirely a sovereign country. The catastrophe took many military officers
of the highest rank - Polish Army Command, military elite, together with the highest state officials, the military bishop, Catholic,
Orthodox and Evangelical military chaplains, the cream of Polish intelligentsia, many MPs and senators, members of Katyń families, agents
of the Government Security Agency, and the crew members of the unfortunate flight...
As the Board and the members of the CZE-NE-KA foundation we have the honour to have known:
May they rest in eternal peace.
Let us pray and LIGHT CANDLES for our close ones,
our friends and Our Homeland in these grave times.
Light a virtual candle:
Let us rush to love people, they depart so quickly
